The Armenian Genocide & Experiences of Indenture, Displacement, and Racism
This is the recording of the second meeting of Sangam and Agora: A Forum of Poets, Philosophers, Scholars, and Autodidacts, on 16 July 2022. The meeting was hosted by Vinay Lal, Professor of History at UCLA and Grzegorz Kwiatkowski, a poet and musician from Gdansk, Poland. Four guests read from their work:
- David Garyan, an Armenian-American poet now living in Italy;
- Bongani Kona, a writer from Zimbabwe now living in Cape Town, South Africa;
- Betty Govinden, an Indian South African poet, writer, community activist, and academic;
- Henry Theriault, professor of philosophy at Worcester State University who has served as President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars.
